I have man flu. Not been to gym in a week. Feel fat and miserable and pathetic.
Still have man flu (actually, a virus, bronchial infection and conjunctivitis in both eyes) and still haven't been back to the gym. Utterly miserable.

I've had some sort of chesty cough, bene bad at times, I think a lot of winter cleaning brought it on.
squeaked out a royal court and short 3.5k run today, I think I'm getting back to normal...but my waist...well it's got another week of freedom.

Got a decent squat workout yesterday.

Squats: 8 x 105; 5 x 115; 3 x 125kg
Bulgarian SS: 14,16,18kg DB x 8 (per leg)

Pull ups: 8 x 12kg; 5 x 16kg; 3 x 20kg

Barbell complex & curls to finish.

All good but tweaked my neck somehow so lots of pain now!

Training is going well at the moment, lifted foot off the gas slightly over Christmas due to being away to collect my new steed. I've eaten and rested in equal measure, so now ready to push on. Currently sat at just about 13 stone still, if I'm honest I'm getting a bit tired of constantly eating. Will have to make a decision in the new year as to which direction I wish to go - fat and strong, or lean and fit. biggrin

Anyway enough about me, new car below. Mid life crisis fully engaged. biggrin

Car looks great.

And the correct choice is fat and strong.

Nice, don't blame you! My toy is rear wheel drive and no driver aids at all, so I haven't used it at all over the Xmas period, like I usually do frown

As for the training/diet choice, I try to choose something in the middle of that - strong and half decent looking... lol

I have had a whole week off for the first time since last year, and parts of me still ache very slightly!

I believe my 18" deadlift is around the same as my floor deadlift now.
However, I think I may be wheat intolerant as that's been in my diet over Christmas and for now whilst I'm staying at a relatives and today's session well erm.... Nearly brown trouser moment laugh
That could've been embarrassing.

Pulled 290 18" https://youtu.be/PgKhY9pU7OI
Next was 310 but the above stopped me so called it.
I'm looking at around 40kg I need to find for May now which may just be doable considering I neglect 18" completely.

I did plan for a few sessions this week, and a few parkruns, but having a tooth out on THursday has put that to bed for me.
Not even done my daily Royal Court circuit. I may have practise go tomorrow

Three really good back to back sessions on the bike and gym mean I’ve hit the ground running, other than a slight niggle in my right shoulder I’m happy with my progress;)

Today>

Bench, feet up: 140kg x 8, 100kg x 20
DB Fly s/s cable fly: 3 sets to failure
Smith shoulder press: 80kg rest pause failure
Tri push down: over hand/underhand/rope tri set set x 3 to failure
DB side an rear delts: 2 sets failure

done.

The inability to use my legs makes some upper body stuff surprisingly harder! I can walk without crutches now, albeit with a limp. pain is manageable, apart from rotation of the leg, which kills me. No swelling or bruising, seem to be rapidly improving mobility and pain wise- so happy enough. I think a few more weeks and i'll be able to start pushing them a bit......

Perhaps time to call it a day on very heavy stuff- well, squats and deads anyway. They've taken a heavy toll on me this year..... My current focus will be reps/pump- supersets, tri sets and giant sets with moderate weight. I'm certainly not going to start training light biggrin

I think I can sculpt a pretty decent physique this year, with an aim to compete in body building next year. Going to cut for a little, before growing again.
