What is the maximum you cant withdraw on a Visacard through a cashpoint ?

A guy is coming over from Norway to buy my car and reckons he has withdrawn £2500 in one go, says his Bank allows a max of £6000 over a 4 day period.

What ya reckon ?

He`s swifted £500 deposit, withdrawn £5000 in sterling in Norway (that`s all his bank had) and he`s gonna get £2500 byway of 10 x £250 from the ATM, says he`s done it before when he bought a car in Manchester.

I`ve just asked who he banks with and what type of card he has.

The only bank open in Faversham on a sat is Nationwide, I suppose they could verify the bank notes.

I thought I had a withdrawal limit but managed to take 700 quid out of a cashpoint the other day (1x300 and 1x400)

I just have a gold account with lloyds but i think any account with lloyds will let you. I know halifax is 300 quid a day
I have a Lloyds platinum account, never tried any more than £500, thought that was the limit.

I`ve just told him, without the full amount, he`ll not be taking the car, so please to be sure he can withdraw that amount over here.

And before anyone picks up on it, yes I have let the V8 Astra go for £8000 and I knowI`m a f***ing idiot, but in 3 weeks time I`d have nowhere to keep it and its been up for sale since early Jan for offers over £10k with no takers.

So what else could I do ?

Depends on the bank, I imagine Norweigan banks operate different policies to the banks here. Not sure why you're worrying about it though, just tell him you'll only accept full amount of cash, and if he doesn't have it send him on his way.

"Oh, you came all the way from Norway and don't have the money? Shame. Enjoy your trip."
I`m trying to helpful Neil, I`d feel awful sending him home with his tail between his legs.

Maybe I`m too soft rolleyes
