I have now got 2 pairs of Church's shoes that need repairing. Their web site says they offer a refurbishment service but does not say where to send the shoes or how much it costs. Has anyone on here used this service? If so how does it work. I want to deal direct as the nearest retailer is over 100 miles away. Info much appreciated.

I have been to the Church's factory in Northampton and seen this in progress. They essentially take the shoe apart and replace anything that needs replacing whilst trying to retain the element that makes it your shoe. The effort that goes into this is amazing - real expertise. In many ways it is more impressive than the new shoe manufacture process.

Contact your shoe shop or the factory. Or, as this is in GG, maybe you could drive there?!

Austin Reed always used to do it - take the shoes from you and ring you when they were done.

You could ring the factory shop in Northampton and ask them 01604 751 251 iirc

I don't wear Church's, I wear Ducker's (better in my opinion, and the Oxford shop is lovely!), but Ducker's do repairs to other manufacturer's shoes as well as their own, to a very high standard. They are nowhere near you, but do an efficient mail-order service. They are a small outfit, so not super-fast, but they really are good. If you are ever anywhere near Oxford, they are worth looking in on, too - very friendly, lovely shoes.

Hi,

Can't answer the direct dealing but the price is £80 (maybe£85) for a resole and refurb. They come back looking as new as a used pair of shoes can do. Take's 4-6 weeks.

I take mine into Church's on Jermyn St so don't know about dealing direct. Give them a call.
