I like to have a wet shave, and sometimes use a shaving brush and soap. This is in a dish and you whizz it around with a brush and a bit of water to make a lather to shave with.

The OH went shopping and I asked her to get some shaving soap, expecting a new dish of soap.

However she came back with a soap 'stick', the size of a 'c' cell battery but a bit taller.

What do you do with it? I have rubbed the brush on it which sort of works but is a bit messy and I'm sure there's a better way to use it.

Someone know?

Melt it down, stick it in the bowl/dish you've already got?

Otherwise, no idea.

Simply ask your OH to return to the shps and this time purchase the correct item, like she was supposed to.

The soap stick is fine actually, just try to make smaller brush circles on the top end of the cylinder.

With heat!

Old saucepan on the hob should do it, pour it into the bowl.

Gently does it, don't boil it!

Not all soaps can be melted, use a bain marie to stop the soap getting too hot. If it doesn't melt after plenty of heat you can grate the soap into a dish and add a little hot water, this will help the soap reform into a new shape!

Maybe his other half does not go shopping very often?
