The good news thread
Discussion
I'm fed up. Fed up with all the bad news, the cuts, recession, war, climate change, chavs, petrol prices, cost of living, how things used to be better. I could go on. I won't, as this isn't the point of this thread.
This is a thread about good news, things no matter how big or small the news, as long as it's good it's welcome
I'll start with the simple news that the misfire in the Boxster isn't as bad as first thought, I'm going to actually get a weekend at home instead of work and the new kitchen is in after 2 weeks of mess, lazy installers and microwave meals!
So what have you got? Share the news and save the moaning for almost every other thread on here!

I don't have to sell my car and buy an automatic MINI.
Better yet in the new year I may be able to trade it in and get the Caterham 7 I've wanted since I was 10.
On top of that, after almost two months of faffing it looks like we might complete on our new house next week!
October's been a good month in a great year.

This week I finally got my MOT done. The cars been standing for around 10 months now.
I budgeted £300 to get it though its MOT but it passed with zero repairs needed (Well, I made a makeshift door handle. But it was free as I used the coat hook from my bedroom door).
Then I phoned up my insurer and it seems my renewal comes in at about £500. Then I found out first direct are offering to beat your renewal by 10%. Basically my quote this year is only £450. Bargain.
All in all, motoring is finally affordable for me.
