My little boy...
Discussion
I don't normally post, in fact nearly never but I need to get this out somehow so please bear with me.
My little boy Oliver contracted pnemoccocal meningitus, septecemia and HUS at 10 months. It was the most heart breaking time of our lives and we nearly lost him so many time over the course of the weeks in Intensive care. After 3 months in hospital, he was left with deafness and chronic renal failure and has since been on dialysis 3 times a week in hospital, this has not been without some major scares and complications. He has just turned 2 and is the most wonderful little boy despite his set backs; on the positive he has received cochlear implants which has made such a diffence to his hearing world.
I have been worked up a living donor and will be donating my kidney on 27th April.
There is no point to this post other than the fear I have for my little lad going through such a major trauma once again. The 27th is a big day for us so if you get chance, please think of Ollie just for a second as I am sure the thoughts he received in ICU 13 months ago got him through it...

Bet that feels better to get off your chest!
My son is 6 months old and not very well at the moment (nothing serious) but the sleepless nights he has been giving us pales into insignifance after reading your posts.
I wish you and your family all the luck in the world.
If you need anything just let us know - more than likely someone on PH will be local and willing to lend a hand.

Good luck with everything, i'm sure he'll be fine.
My neice had all kinds fo issues for the first 18m of her life. Lung problems due to massive asthma issues, kidney, stomach and hearing problems too. She was very weak, and they thought they'd lose her many times.
Now 4, she's an absolute bruiser - stronger and fitter than her twin brother!
