I've been asked to join the Freemasons
Discussion
I feel honoured but I'm not sure if it's for me, or what I'd get from it. Can anyone offer any advice, are you a Freemason?
Edit for name change 9/01/11:
Now known as Ferodocastrol and I still have not made up my mind but the door is still open, apparently!

whatever you do don't ask that question when you get interviewedyou get out what you put in with masonry - you get to meet a load of people you wouldn't normally associate with, it's a evening a week out of the house (once you start to get to more senior positions in your lodge), it keeps your mind on the go having to learn the ritual and rubrik and you raise money for charity
granted it's not for everyone but you can join more than one lodge if your mother lodge (the one you initially join) isn't to your taste

I would however think very carefully about it, as some lodges can be very old fashioned, whereas others can be a good laugh with people your own age. At the end of the day it's just a get together and raising a bit of money for charity though.
Interesting when you're waaaaaaaay up the ladder.
Whilst everybody say's don't join it for what you get out of it, in my experience many do. You will get a great opportunity to network and you may get a leg up in your business/career. People like doing business with people they know and trust. It's a great upstanding organisation dedicated to charity - nuff said?
