It's not Bradford any more, it's "Bratfot innit bruv". I had to drive a black wrapped GT-R through there once, never again.

Did you notice all the signs are now in 2 languages, rather than just English?

Sounds very similar to Sparkhill, Sparkbrook, Small heath etc around Birmingham.

Probably the most unpleasant place I have ever been in the UK - somehow worse than other deprived areas, and with a real 'ghetto' feel. A worrying town.

There are some amazing curry houses though if you know where to look.

My Grandfather was a mill manager in from 1930-1970, plenty of money in Bradford then, except they thought it would last forever. Didn't change with the times.

Moorhead, Nabs Wood & Saltaire still look nice, shame what happened to my roots.

Yes, you are right, it is, although I do think other parts are not too bad, compared to other places mentioned smile

Bradford, like many other cities...has good areas and bad areas.

The first impression people get when they exit the motorway...are the bad areas.

Ok. That's your opinion.

Have you been around all of it?

Bradford is the biggest st hole in england without question.

Try going to some of the areas like Girlington - they honestly are so bad you wouldn't want to get out of your car.

Every take away has a 997 turbo outside and the genuine mess that these people live in is horrendous - they simply don't care about anything, so many people pay no tax, so many on benefits.

I really REALLY try to avoid going to Bradford at all costs.

If all the people in surrey, central london, devon etc could actually see what bradford was like they would have a different view of a lot of things in the UK
You are right on the takeaway front-dont think I have ever seen so many, and indeed one did have a 911 outside!

Over the past years...yes. Family are from round there.

Such as the examples given. Saltaire going down hill rapidly, Nab Wood went downhill before my uncle moved out years ago.

Such as.

I agree where my gran lives on the hill in Eldwick it is nice. However I wouldn't consider places that far out as Bradford. You have to go a way out to find somewhere nice.

Yeah it's not the nicest place in the UK but I doubt it's the worst. It's never been that nice though has it?

I work in Bradford. There are nice places and some great places to get a curry. Friendly people too.

And then there are some people who do not know how to live, follow laws, and the Highway Code is something that is not implemented or policed. Some areas are truly toilets.

I dont live too far away from Bradford and have numerous friends in and around the area.

Some of the outskirts are nice, couple of villages out and about, but the main area of the city and surroundings just seem to be utter ste!

The level of driving there is shocking!

I lived in Preston, and I felt embarrassed for folk arriving there via the M6 through New Hall Lane. It really is a pit.

There are nice places in Preston, but most folk there just wish they lived in Manchester.

Don't miss it.
