My reading of the bet was positive or negative from June 2008 to 1st Jan 2010, so we are 2/3rds of the way through.
"You say significantly up by 2010 (amend if you like) and I say significantly down.
How about I buy a bottle of Veuve if it is positive between now and then, and you buy if it is negative?"

Still everything to play for - supposedly up in the last quarter, and very low volumes could make for volatile results....
ETA - Actually, going to the excellent Land Registry site shows average price in Lambeth has fallen from £350k to £300k which is a fall of 14ish% between June 2008 and March 2009, which is the latest data they are showing.
