After reading a long winded quoting session from http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...
I feel that I'm in need of a religion due to impending doom of MMGW, Nulabour, speeding cameras etc.

But which to choose? If I get it wrong and choose the wrong god will I go to hell, what if there's more than one god? Can I follow more than one? i.e. Odin, Allah and God. Are there any gods that don't mind people hedging their bets?

Oh and I need this religion not to have any wierd diets. or too costly (time and money)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just how bat-st crazy are you ?

If your only moderately bat-st crazy, Christianity would probably be sufficient.

If you are more bat-st crazy and are willing to ignore all scientific progress in the last century then maybe you could go for Christianity with the twist of being a young-earth creationist who believes the earth is only 6000 years old.

It then goes up in varying degrees of strangeness. You could be Muslim, although the diet is a bit weird and I can't decide for if you could pull off the dress.

If you are a full-fat, delusional, paranoid psychotic there is always Scientology. On the upside you may rub shoulders with some, insane, celebrities. On the down side everyone will laugh at you and deservedly so.

but how many followers do you need to be classed as a religion, and not just a crackpot?

I put Jedi on the 2001 census.

So far not really interested in Christianity due to to many holes in the theories.

Muslim wierd diet same with Jewishism (meh)

Scientology = stumpy shortarsed Tom Cruise so that's out (and they're nuts)

According to my facebook account I'm a Pastafarian, Church of the flying spaghetti monster.

I must savagely beat my administrator for making me out to a Richard Dawkin's evangelist...

That means that Dawkinism is a religion - in which case something's just imploded...

What about Sikh ? Don't they get to play with knives ?

And if weaponry / kicking ass'ery is your thing, what about scrapping the idea of a religion all together and just become a ninja ?

I would consider the creationist movement to be even more hatstand than the scientology people, only just though.
