OK,

Over the years if someone claims to own some very expensive exotica, the request from doubters usually goes up,... put a tin of custard on the bonnet to authenticate the photo,.. however surely this can be easily photoshopped, so does anyone have any better foolproof ideas?......

scratchchin......biggrin

Not a PH original, I saw the custard request on Barryboys years ago and no doubt they nicked it from somewhere themselves!!

Whats to stop you nabbing a genuine 'custard shot' and passing it off as your own?

Why custard?

Who keeps custard?

Why not something that everyone will have.....loaf of bread.

It's not as if there's a plethora of 'library pictures' available of supercars with a loafs of Hovis on their bonnets.

Chilli sauce being eaten by the poster with the exotica whilst leaning on the bonnet of the exotica, perhaps with a panda or other exotic wildlife posing in the background! biggrin

Surely a copy of a daily paper would be the most accurate way. Not as amusing as shouting out for a custard test though.

Alternative - which could still involve the custard - as illustrated by a non supercar owner:

A picture of you next to the object with your mug in the shot along with a copy of your passport?

Given that it is the internet, so we're all 6'5" (myself excepted, I'm 9'3"), why does anyone care about potential authenticity, or proof thereof?

I thought the test was that the object (custard, bread, outer-mongolian hummingbird) was placed on the dashboard, visible through the windscreen in the photo, to prove you had access to the car, rather than had just placed an unusual object on some random strangers car.

Picture of the owner infront of the car in question, in one hand holding a can of custard, in the other, flashing the 'Shocker' or 'Curious Bunny'

I must admit the first few times I saw references the the 'custard test' I assumed that the proof required was to make up the custard and splurge it over the vehicle in question...

I put a box of Paxo on one of my cars here a while back - also Hob Nobs on a Strimmer.

I have no custard.

I'm pretty sure this was down to a thread a while back about some young lad claiming to own a Porsche, and somebody inventing a 'test' - which the young lad duly passed, shooting down many people in the process smile

The gold rolls royce thread was brilliant. It ended with a pic of the car keys in front of the computer moniter with the PH thread showing.

ETA Bugger too late.
