Warning! Possible spoilers!

Has anyone read the latest Grisham book? If you haven't, don't bother, it is absolute st.

It's based around an incredibly weak premise but if you can manage to ignore that and stick with it the plot starts to build up quite nicely but then just completely fizzles out at the end. Worst ending since I stopped reading Stephen King books.

I bloody hate hardback books because they're too bulky but I couldn't resist buying this and now I feel cheated. Worse book I've read in ages.

I'm usually a huge Grisham fan so I have to say if I read a post like this it probably wouldn't put me off getting the book but if you have to get it please at least save a bit of money and wait for the paperback.

I've just done what I should have done before buying the book and checked the reviews on Amazon. Seems most people agree with me.

The legal themed books are getting a bit tired.

Have you read any of the "non-legal" books - such as "A Painted House" or "Playing for Pizza"?

I struggled a bit with it but overall I thought it was ok. Certainly not in the same class as The Last Juror or my aboslute favourite The Runaway Jury!

I really hated A Painted House but loved his biography on the chap on death row, The Innocent Man.

I have ready most of his books many times over.

I haven't read any of those. Would you recommend them?

If anyone still likes the legal themed books then I'd recommend two by Mark Gimenez, "The Perk" and "The Colour of Law"

They won't win any Pullitzer Prizes but they are perfectly adequate. "Playing for Pizza" is quite humerous.

I used to be a big fan but there are only so many legal books that can still be interesting and hes written them all.

I think Playing for Pizza is an excellent read. Perfect for a new series to spin off along.

Now i think about it more, i found The King of Torts particularly poor rofl

Can't remember which book it is exactly, but the one where the dude fresh out of college takes on the sick kid case vs the insurance company... that one is awesome biggrin

Just finished reading it the other week and I totally agree that the ending just fizzles away without a climax after all that build up.

My favorite Grisham books are The Rainmaker and The Firm.

I think that was The Rainmaker. I left my copy on a train when I had about 20 pages to go and it was so good I had to go and buy another copy.
