Stop moaning about Britain

ALl these people that run onto PH day in day out lamenting about how st our country is:
Why dont you stop moaning and go somewhere else?

If I hated my country as much as a lot of you I wouldnt dream of staying here and crying to anyone who would listen about how crap it is. THat is extraordinary behaviour. I would simply find somewhere better, and if no such place existed then I would calm down and accept that maybe it isnt so bad.

YOu all sound like a bunch of miserable racist pensioners muttering things like "It wasn't like that in my day.

NOw just shush and try and be fking positive about something for a change.
OUr country would b in a far better state if people stopped being so fking negative and remebered how to be British.

I used to think like that - I HATED this "god-forsaken" country etc. etc.

I'd not long come back from living in Australia and felt the contrast between the two was shocking (Oz = good, UK = bad)

But then I changed my job/lifestyle. I moved, essentially, to the countryside and now I think this country has some really wonderful things about it. Added to this, I stopped reading newspapers and very much filtered the other sources of news I did read/see. This alone made a massive difference to my attitude towards this country.

So - in summary - those that moan most about this country should probably look closer to home. It's probably your life/lifestyle you're unhappy with, not this country.

Plus - stop reading the "popular" press. They're scum. I, literally, despise them.

Yep, there are far worse countries out there. I'm originally from one of the colonies. When I'd had enough of my home country I up and left. My friend ,who did the same, has since moved again to somewhere he is happier.

It's not that difficult to just move.

Thats the big problem isnt it?
Pick up any tabloid and it plunges you into despair. Read one for a couple of weeks and heavy depression sets in.
And then you step back and realise that your actual quality of life goes up over time and not down.

Since this is a motoring website it seems to me perfectly justifiable to feel persecuted by what is unquestionably an anti-motoring mindset in the country at large, howsoever propogated.

Of course, this zeitgeist afflicts many countries today but that's no compensation.

The mania against speeding per se is, afaic, quite out of both control and proportion.

I would include all the press (well not the FT) or rather just describe All the papers as tabloid. I gave up watching TV "news" along time ago as it is just too flaky. Still shocked quite how agressive people can be as a matter of course. Too much pressure at work ?

If that was all that was being moaned about then I wouldn't have made this thread.
Someone actually did a thread today entitled "FUrther proof that the county is fked", or similar, citing the fact that the department of health had issues hot weather warnings for the summer and asked people to keep an eye out for pensioners and the like.
THis, according to them, prooved that the country was fked because all of our tax was used to ask people to look out for pensioners.
THere are thousands of similar posts throughout this forum.

Proper anger, like yours, gets rendered irrelevant by all the angry irrelevance.
