That's hotel prices - almost twice as much as normal London prices.
Hilton had a Costa labelled coffee lounge - but at twice the price of normal Costa coffee.
What do you mean 'almost twice as much as normal'?Hilton had a Costa labelled coffee lounge - but at twice the price of normal Costa coffee.
It's about 4 times as much as normal.
I suggest the OP has been ripped off.

Those prices are extortionate but as another poster noted, you were paying for the plush, W1, surroundings.

I work in the City of London. Coffee is 80p to go, and I sometimes splash out on two slices of toast, with butter for 90p, or £1.20 for Bloomer bread.
You must have been paying for the surroundings, chillax.
2 slices of warmed bread with butter for a quid?!? Buy a toaster and a loaf You must have been paying for the surroundings, chillax.

NOw listen here, my American friend. If you are going to work in our beloved Capital (and you are most welcome as far as I am concerned) there are a couple of English phrases you need to learn.
1) take away (to denote taking something away from food establishments as opposed to eating in).
2) Calm down. This means 'stop getting so annoyed'. Most Brits wont know what you mean when you say "Chillax" in that it is not a word and it doesnt mean anything.
They will probably hate you and mutter things like "f
king Yanks" behind your back.Just my little bit of advice to aid better integration!
