Going to a gig on your own...

Tonight there are 2 Dj's I've wanted to see for years playing at Fabric, I don't think they've played here in the last few years. The thing is I've only just found out, and although my mates would be keen they mostly live miles away and have work tomorrow, as a result can't make it... Should I go alone?

Means I'm not having to worry about others, can go down the front and mosh or stand at the back and watch depending on my mood, not that of others.

who's playing? certain substances that's are easily available in many clubs enable you to make friends very quickly, especially if you are going to fabric on your own!

I haven't been to a gig on my own for a very long time, but towards the end of my student days I regularly went on my own. I remember going to the upstairs bit of The Riverside in Newcastle, and basically it was me and the band and their mates.

Yep, same as going to the cinema, theatre, a restaurant, pub or even just a walk on your own. We don't have to have company to enjoy ourselves.

At least, I don't, anyway.

There is a difference between going to a gig on your own and going clubbing on your own.
Going to a gig on your own is perfectly acceptable. Going out clubbing on your own is, well, a bit tragic.
However, as a previous poster has said, clubs aboud with the sort of substanced that will enable you to make freinds very easily. Still a bit sad though

I went on my own to Radiohead at Shepherds Bush Empire without a ticket... paid £60 to a tout and had a great evening listening to my favourite band (at the time) in a small venue.

I have been to a few Madonna concerts on my own as had already dragged mates/husband to one show and then fancied going to the same show. Also been on my own after no-one else wanted to pay £200 a ticket!

Nothing wrong with it. I would say that though, since all of my friends think my taste in music is weird and I often have to travel for gigs.

I've been to a few gigs on my own and would not hesitate to do so again.

Last one was Tegan and Sara at the Shepherd's Bush Empire.
