I've just seen a load of Navy personnel march past my office. What's that all about then?

We've got an aircraft carrier down in Greenwich and had mock scenes of apocalypse now going on in the skies over London yesterday. The Lusty aircraft carrier is in town! Suspect both events are related.

You needed to add "...but that's not important right now." to get a ROFL.

No, although it may well end up sinking.

Why do Navy men have tatoos on their backs? So the Marines have something to read during sex. But I digress.....biggrin

Pull up a bollard, swing that lamp and let me tell you a story.

I was in the RN once, many moons ago, and in 1977 at the Fleet Revue in Portsmouth, there were ships in from all over the world even the good old US of A, a USS Nimitz. Being jolly jack tar and well up for a large number of "wets" ashore, a large number of hairy arsed stokers fron HMS Hermes were in a bar near to the docks also shared by many large and scary looking "septics". Anyway many drinks were consumed and and we were in full Naval song and basically slinging st at each other, the septics were doing their best too, but not quite up to it, one song by us, then one by them.

After about 2 minutes of no songs a big yank got up un a bar stool and shouted, "come on you Limeys, tell us yanks something really funny, youve not made us laugh yet", one of the RN lads said "i bet i can make you laugh in two words". The reply was, "Come on then st fer brains, what are they"

A voice shouted back

Pearl Harbour

st ive never seen so many angry young sailors in all my life, Danny LaRue would have shot his lot, im sure hehe

What a great day out that was
