Right, there is a woman I work with who is in her mid 30's (at a guess), and She is completely addicted to facebook.

She goes for a smoke every hour or so, and she will update her status on facebook in every fag break. Its just sad....

A teen doing it i could understand, but not a mature woman. I really dont get how people can get sooo involved in something like that.

Anyone on here know someone who's compeltely addicted to it, but is at that sort of age you;d expect them to actually have a life?

Someone on my facebook actually gossips about herself on there, it makes quite interesting reading sometimes. Its good for a laugh when i'm bored, her life is quite comical.

So you're stalking her on FB?? How else do you know?

And you had to take up smoking? You know this is going to be bad for your health...

You announce every little change in your life on here, people with facebook announce the little changes to their family and friends, ie, people they know and care.

No but i've heard of a guy with a st brown car that can't help posting the most inane, mind rotting toss on a motoring forum. I'm sure quite a few people on that site must find him both entertaining and annoying.

Yep, in very many ways Facebook is little different to this place.

In fact in many ways it is better.

I go on it in the evenings to chat to a few people in america using its built in MSN type thing.

But when i sign on all i see on the 'daily updates' bit is her with stuff like '[insert name] is going to sit in the sun and read a book' '[insert name] is enjoying the book' '[insert name] has gotten to a confusing part of her book'

thats just silly given they were about 30 mins apart.

During an hour or so chat with a friend in america this person's status changed about 7-8 times!!!!!!

And with regards to smoking, I'm one of thse annoying 'social' smokers(but I'm giving up as of today because i hate it), but she comes in after a fag break and will tell you she;s just been updating her status on facebook. On facebook she tells everyone what she's doing in real life, and in real life she tells everyone what she's doing on facebook....thats just wrong IMHO

People that update the status bit more than twice a week are monumentally sad.

I have only ever done it a few times when I have been shocked/amazed/appalled at something.

Currently it references me enjoying my first bowl of lucky charms for over ten years!

Another thing i find sad is people who have about 900 friends on it.

Where is the point. I asked one of my friends if he knew them all 'nah i only know about 20 of them' so i asked him if he speaks to most of em 'nah, but the more friends you have the better you look'

So to sum up, what you mean is, some people are sad, some of them use Facebook and some of them use Pistonheads.

Only real difference as far as i can see is that the people she continually updates know her, and have chosen through their own volition to be included in hearing what she has to say. The majority of people who are subjected to your mindless drivel neither know you, care, or have had much say in the matter. Posting on my phone here, and when i try and write 'own' it assumes i want to write 'oxo'. I wonder if this is PH specific?
