How many times have you been fired in your working life and what for? Any serial offenders out there who cant keep a job down or know anyone who just cant cut it?

I think I have been fired about 3 times, the one that springs to mind was when working for an appliance company straight from College, 6months after receiving my shiny new license. That job lasted about 15months, I was devastated when I received that letter from HR, during that time I managed to clock up 8 accidents, several parking tickets and one traffic infringement away from getting banned whistle

I was sacked from a photography shop whilst applying for other jobs.

Manager found out and sacked me.

His reasoning was that I had never been early for work. Just on time. Always.

Saw the same guy a few years later selling crap furniture in DFS/SCS/MFI. Yes, I did take the piss out of him.

I was sacked once and I have absolutely no idea why. Hadn't argued with anyone, hadn't done anything wrong but was told I had an "attitude". That's never come up in any job I'd ever had before, or since. Very strange.

Once, for 'defending myself'. Sort of.

Well, for beating the snot out of a co-worker who thought being twunt was a pre-requisite for faux management, and despite his being all of 2 foot tall thought I wouldn't react when he did the poking-in-the-chest-pointing thing when trying to be stroppy. Never regretted it hehe

More jumping before I was pushed, but I got called in to the MD's office to explain why a contract had been lost.

"Nothing to do with me, I hadn't even heard of this account" was my reply.

"Do you think I am some kind of , you helped on the ..."

"Let me stop you there Cliff, I don't think you are some kind of , I know you are."

Walked calmly to my desk, packed up my stuff, gladly left my BlackBerry on the desk with my laptop and told everyone I had just called Cliff a and was on my way biggrin

He had been acting like an ahole for quite sometime, this was the final straw and I was on third interview with a new company anyway so just thought ah fk it!

I got suspended at work and they encouraged me to leave. confused

I got head butted by a co worker (he actually missed and hit my lip the tt) so I punched him and he ended up in hospital. (No, he really did)

Bit gutted as it was a paper recycling place and I used to get as many free mags as I wanted, Evo and all the car mags, porno's, books, rare Haynes manuals (try a Mk1 Mexico book x 4, £30 on ebay!) frown

On a lighter note, I did meet my girlfriend at the new company (now ex girlfriend) and have now stared my own company. beer

Been fired just once, my first job in London.

Lasted about 6 weeks and was pulled aside by my boss late one afternoon and told not to come back. Being only 18 at the time, it didn't even click when everyone but me was asked for their opinions on the new lad that was being walked round.

On the train home I finally twigged that the office was one seat short!

I've never been sacked, but I took a st, low paid job for an ISP in High Wycombe as a stepping-stone in 1999. All but two of my colleagues were worthless turds and would openly boast about how much cocaine they took the night before. My boss would also read our email (up to him I suppose, is all company property).

So when I handed in my notice and he wasn't expecting it (since he obviously thought I'd use my work address for that stuff rolleyes) he lost his rag and almost dragged me off the premises, telling me to collect my things and don't touch my computer. When I asked if it was normal procedure he said "it is for you.". Funny that an hour earlier I'd got a glowing appraisal.

Oh no, a month off paid in July with gorgeous weather, what a drag.

Never been fired, But As a chef I once stormed out of a busy pub caus the Jock Manager was a twunt and never paid the suppliers, so we were always short on stock. On the way out through the bar area I advised him in a very audiable voice that I was not prepared to serve food that was out of date, and he should to stick his pub up his ar$e.

He was fired after a spate of complaints from staff and customers and I was duely appointed my job back with a juicy pay rise.

sacked from homebase because no one told me i was ment to keep the voided transaction slips, rather than binning them, meaning my till came up short.

irritatingly my mate worked there who actually WAS robbing the till. but hey, i was 16, it was a st job and i ended up working at a book shop about a month after so its all good.

also the tt that got rid of me actually got the sack for doing it (amongst other things). he had just brought a house, i was 16 and was working so i could buy xbox games and beer.

their loss!

been made redundant 3 times mind you, and im only 22 =[

I got sacked (then immediately reinstated for some reason) from my job at a large supermarket chain beginning with T.

Basically id phoned up sick so i could go visit a mate in Manchester for a night out. Whilst out my boss phoned my parents home to see how I was. My brother answered the phone, and thinking it was one of my friends, told him I was in Manchester on a night out. Genius. I got called straight into the office when i returned to work......

Working for a stroppy, bad tempered vet as an ambulance driver! Had to take his car to the garage for a service so took a bit of a rounabout route (this is in about 1979)

Got a phone call from him that night to ask why the police had been round to chat to him about being observed at "excessive speed" on the motorway.

Didn't last much longer than the phone call after that.
