If your in the vicinity of Wiltshire and stuck for ideas on how to spend a day with the missus, you can do alot worse than

a) The Barge in Seend for lunch

b) A look around Old Wardour Castle, about 20min south.

We've just had a great day.

This country is full of beautiful places, get your arse out and see them, instead of whining that you cant afford to go to Spain.

20 minutes Seend to Wardour? In a rocketship maybe.

See, even Google agrees with me. Especially if you take the scenic route. smile

Ah, but I have a Mondeo.... wink

Ok, maybe it was 30. But certainly no more than that. The other bonus is, if you set your sat nav to shortest route, the roads are a bit of fun. Or at least they would be, were I not in a 140ps Mondeo

Yeh the 350 south of Warminster is a cracking road. Bit like a good old fashioned roller coaster. Or Rainbow Road on MarioKart.

There's an airfield that does breakfast down that way somewhere. Compton Abbas, south of Shaftesbury. Plenty of bikes on a Sunday. Another good day out in Wilts (OK mostly Dorset).

We did Old Wardour and several others in the area when we were last over there. I'm fascinated by places like that, while my brother who lives there seems unaware of what is on his doorstep
