I'm easily confused, so....

I split up with the Ex almost 2 years ago and we have no contact apart from once a week for 5 mins as we share the dogs. She told me on Saturday that I would be getting a letter from her Solicitor about agreeing to a 2 year separation divorce(her doings but I will go along with that as there is no reason not to) and then she went all crumbly chin and tearful. I asked her why she was upset and she said it's not a very nice thing to be doing(Err, it's what you wanted love). Roll on to yesterday and I get a call about 8.30 and it is her, the boiler isnt working and can I remember what lights should be on etc? There are 8 houses down that road and they all have the same oil fired boiler so she could just pop around to the neighbours and have a peek. She also starts telling me all about her woes at work...

This is very odd as we have had nothing to do with each others lifes since we split, it's 2 years since I last saw the bolier and I only knew it for a few months anyway. Why ring me about all this, WTF?

It may be a stupid thing to some of you but it these last two "chats" have really confused me confused

By the way, no immersion heater at that house, oh dear hehe

Don't read anything into it mate.

'Liverpool are playing at home' and she's using you as a crutch.

That is probably close to the truth, all her "grass is greener" ideas don't seem to have worked out, she has realised friends and family only run so deep and she hasn't found anyone with a willy as big as mine yet wink

As said, it's getting real. She wants you to make her feel wanted by begging her not to go ahead and make it real - because you're not, she feels vulnerable and unattractive. Hence boo-hoo-ing etc.

Your best bet is to phone her up and say "Alright, chubby. That letter still hasn't arrived yet. Any chance you can get your solicitor to hurry up. Nice one. Gotta go - I've got some tight-bunned slut coming round shortly. Byyeeee!"

The reason you share the dogs is so that she has an excuse to see you. The boiler is another excuse.

If you really want to get rid of her then give her the dogs and change your phone numbers, and house prefereably.

As I see it, what she had planned on happening was for you to say something along the lines of

"Where did we go wrong, we had some good times, why dont we meet up and talk about it all, see if theres something we can salvage here"

The past two years havent exactly gone to plan for her and she is probably sitting home alone with only the good memories for comfort, and has some desperate hope that you still miss her / think about her

Have you started seeing anyone else recently that she knows about?

yes by this very act of announcing separation/divorce and you acknowledging to go forth with it brings the reality of the situation to the fore.

If you have moved on (apart from the dogs connection) and are genuinely happy to separate then I would try to rebuff this current rekindled interest she appears to be displaying. Once your ex gets her head around the situation she will revert back to the mindset that initially made the split with you 2 years back.

Go round, fix the boiler, bang her and then ignore her calls and texts.
