It is real. That is just one example. The "Metal Storm System" can be fit to various weapons. My worry is when they said that it does not have to be manned. Visions of that robot going amok on the original Robocop came to mind.

Wasn't this thing on Tomorrow's World aboud a decade ago? If I remember right it has some sort of electric ignition system and several bullets in each barrel are fired from the muzzle end back in rapid succession.
