Marquee Riggers / Festival Work / Summer fun........
Discussion
Anyone any experience of where to find work over the summer doing any of the above - looks like i might be losing my proper job next week - quite fancy doing something fun for the summer.....
Or any other suggestions for interesting fun probably outside summer work - doesn't have to just be in this o
ry and can include travel and or driving work.
Cheers

I run an events/marquee company. We're based in the south though so a bit far to commute....
Your best bet is to call around all your local companies, tell them you are looking for some casual work in the summer, and they will probably take your details down and put them on a list. (this is what we do) Let them know when you can work (all hours if you can)
If you call enough up you are bound to get something, and get your foot in the door.
To give you an idea, we have up to 25 casual staff a day working sometimes in the summer, so there is a lot of work out there.

ETA - PM me if you want anymore help

...or should it be business?
Thanks for the info kong I'll have a look at who are local to me.
Try contacting IMG about the picnic concerts that run through the summer. Have a look at the links below. They are always looking for riggers etc.

I do this (Marquee and lining work).
As other have said, contact local companies - you might be surprised how many there are around you. We ( www.mudfordmarquees.co.uk ) start taking on people (usually students) around May time and they'll leave late September. I wasnt a student and started in May and was kept on full time.
Hours will be long, work can be hard but sometimes very easy. Good laugh a lot of the time.
