As many of you may know I purchased some PCD adapters off ebay and they turned out to be shocking. So they have now been sent back. One adapters was unfit for purpose as the threads stripped before the wheel was secured, the others just felt dangerous.

The guys ebay add states they can be sent back for a full refund. I have now sent them back asking for a refund. He's now saying he needs to have a look at them (which is fair) and then he will decide if i get a refund or not.
You can see that they have ben fitted and have been driven with them on(only 50-80ft which i explained to him).

Where do i stand if he decides not to honour his returns policy? is it something ebay and paypal can sort ourt or am i just going to have to take the loss of £128 on the chin and put it down to experience?

Thanks

Thom

If you paid with paypal you can start a claim with them, usually they side with the buyer

Return them as faulty?

Should be covered by some form of warranty.

When you send them back, make sure its tracked as the seller could say he hasn't received them.

I've just been through a similar thing. Bought something on Ebay, they sent something else, I returned this and I never received anything back. I started a Paypal claim, and I've just got my money back. The whole thing only took about three weeks.

The good thing is you can leave nasty feedback and they can't do anything in return smile

And as others have said, make sure you use recorded postage to send it back (maybe add the cost of this to your claim).

All post is recorded to a degree, it all gets barcoded in and its all on their system, you just pay more for the privilage of seeing it. I have my post office reciept with my barcode number on it, if it doesnt turn up i phone up the P.O head office to find out why its not been sent, if its been 'lost' its insured for £150 so i will claim that off them. If they do not honour their insurance policy then would that be a job for trading standards?

Recorded delivery shows you as the poster and the person receiving it IF they signed for it. These go with the normal letter mail and if it goes missing then you can claim up to £30 IIRC
Registered or 'signed for' or Special delivery costs a lot more and is sent seperate from the regular mail and is tracked at every receiving and sending office until it gets to you and you can check the sig online a few days later.
Parcels are handled by Parcelfarce and are different from RM, they handle letters and packets. If you sent it PF then it will be tracked.
I would ask the seller for a refund before you open a claim with paypal and there is every chance he will just pay you rather than have the hassle with paypal that a claim entails for him.
Offer the guy every chance of paying first, good luck!
