From climbing along the ropes to my hammock when I camp in the jungle?

Can anyone come up with an invention or device that does this? Prize for the best one.

Vaseline on the rope?

Few things I'd want to test first.

Does it just create a sticky environment where-by spiders and ants have better access?
Does it in anyway affect the structural integrity of the rope, the possibility that you end up on the floor being devoured by a large snake?

A great excuse to take Vaseline into the jungle with you.

Lube up your ropes bad boy and afterwards you can use it to soften the blow when you get mounted by a silver back gorilla.

This of course is complete st if your planning on camping in your garden....

ETA - Arghh beaten to it.

Just tell the ants that the spiders think they're gay, then pop over to the spiders and tell them that the ants just shagged their girlfriends.

They'll soon forget all about your ropes.

True, it'll only kill the deaf spiders and ants, the rest will run away.

I don't mind them so much. Anyway the snakes would eat the rats and scorpions don't climb ropes.

Ants get everywhere and I hate spiders so these are the enemy.

7) Meditate and communicate with them and invite them to leave...to a better alternative.. Worth a try.

"Talk" to them and suggest, respectfully, that they go elsewhere. You might even leave them a daily feast of some kind somewhere away from your trees.

(Liora's Note: similar to what I do with cockroaches--I catch them in a cup, walk down the street for a block while I talk to them and tell them I'm going to give them their lives and their freedom in exchange for their promise for them and their progeny to stay away from my house! Then I let them go. I have a lot fewer roaches in the house this year than last!)

Nah, Ray would eat them. Or is that Bear? Bear would eat them. Ray would train them to carve useful household objects.
