After weeks of chasing a seller who sent me damaged good I have decided enough is enough. They do reply to messages but don't seem to want to sort the issue out. They keep fobbing me off with the 'I have opened a claim with the postage company'. This has been ongoing for around 6 weeks.

This morning I decided that enough is enough and sent an e-mail asking for an address to return the goods to for a full refund.

I have a feeling that this less than helpful seller will claim to have not received it or straight up refuse me my money back.

How do I stand with eBay and PayPal and ultimately what are my chances of seeing my cash again.

It is to a value of around £80.

Thank you...

If you paid with PayPal you should be ok. Open up a dispute in PayPal for item not as described / damaged. Seller has 7 days then to do something about it. PayPal should give you refund as long as you sent the item back by Recorded delivery and provide PayPal with tracking number. You should be ok as long as it's not more than 60 days since you won the item.

It's a shame there are a few poor business sellers on ebay, the vast majority are reputable.

Ebay is now too expensive to list on.

The only people who can make worthwhile money from Ebay are private individuals just selling junk or long term Ebay established businesses who are producing good turnover.

To start up now is just too expensive

The 10% plus you lose through listings and paypal make it impossible for me to sell on their despite getting goods at 35% cheaper than retail from a trade distributor and you always have to compete price wise with somepone who is selling a stolen version of what you have for silly money.
