With the conviction of the murderer of Jimmy Mizen, his father has some interesting things to say about our society:

And on the same day:

Now I know that 24hr News has a tendency to make us feel that there is more crime, but the level of casual stabbings over trivial matters seems to be escalating out of control....
Agree? Comments?

I'd say a combination of....
The spread of urban street culture;
The spread of political correctness and its debilitating affect on traditional social authority and authority figures;
The dominance of the left-wing in education policy making, the teaching profession and social service type areas;
An increased tolerance towards supposed low level crime by left-wing authority;
The compensation/blame culture;
The proliferation of legal rights without associated legal responsibilities;
The breakdown of traditional social morality;
...is in the vanguard of causes for a more violent Britain

The absolute most spot on post of the year so far IMO. !!! The spread of urban street culture;

I would say crime/violence has increased, but not at the level the media would have us believe.
How about you middle class keyboard warriors go and do something about it?
