I must admit last time I visited Paris I was massively unimpressed, but I was 21 and skint.

I'm now a wee bit older and have just one night to play next week.

Where? What and Why?

I'll probably be on my tod so being a reserved brit help me out...!

That is a very polite way of asking where the red light district is.

May I suggest that Paris (supposedly the most romantic city in the world)is a strange place to go if you're on your own? Wouldn't Amsterdam or Bucharest be a better choice? smile

Brilliant idea. I'll have the conference moved there.

Depends what your after?

Nice meal, culture? A club - if so whats your scene?

Latin quater is very touristy but also worth a look round for food, the tower is excelent at night for a view.

Thats it really - not sure. I think a meal will be sorted.

Maybe some music (live) of any variety, or a club, not the ear drum wrecking kind that sort of thang.

To be fair you didn't actually mention that in your first post! I'll have a talk to the missus and a think and get back to you...

Well I was going to say the China Club near Montparnass but I see it's closed after 18 years frown. Otherwise for a really nice French bistro dinner in a lively genuiine Paris restaurant I highly recommend Chez Janaud off BLvd Beaumarchais, Bastille. As for live music, we've been renovating our bloody house for so long now that I've forgotten what live music is. So on the whole not much help really, unless you're as wild as I am about a most delicious magre de canard with a decent Saint Emillion. You could always jump on the RER into our suburb and do some Polyfiller-ing wink

Was there more than one China Club? I knew they had other bars, but I thought only the one on Rue de Charenton (just down from the Bastille) was called The China Club. Either way, it's pretty crap that they closed it: would have been a great spot for the OP to spend an evening.
