A wiki is an article based on fact, not opinion. The article can be edited by anyone by means of collaboration to improve the article.

A Wiki is not a chatroom, a place for anarchy and editing of Wikis in a way that could be deemed as vandalism. It is not somewhere for people to put articles up based entirely on opinion and not based in fact.

A Wiki should always be neutral towards the subject and not biased despite what the author(s) may think of the subject.

Erm, I thought a wiki was a website that allowed a number of people to come together and work in a collaborative manner. What the content is could be anything. It could be a work of fiction. It could be anything.

I think you're right there actually, i was thinking of wikipedia

Hmmmmnnn.... smile

Even Wikipedia's factual content is a little lacking in some areas (apparently). Much better to just say "A Wiki is a collaborative document with people supplying content. World facing ones are often, but not always, published under one of the Creative Commons's 'share & share alike' licenses. And then slap a quickie link to the article about wikiTiki which goes on about the history of Wiki's.

A wiki is NOT a discussion forum. That's what normal threads are for. This one is a good example of why wiki's don't work as discussion forums.
