Kangaroo words are words that contain a synonym inside them, with the letters appearing in the same order. The smaller, embedded synonym is called a "joey word," named after the baby kangaroo that a mother carries in her pouch. Examples include "observe" containing "see," "blossom" containing "bloom," and "destruction" containing "ruin"


I'd never heard of these before until I stumbled across Vsauce (great youtube site by-the-by), another rabbit hole to wonder through
