Uncanny, I was discussing this at the weekend.

Huge blimps made of solar panel material attached to oversize Scalextric track by long extension leads to always keep them in the sun, with the over power going to the grid.

A door you can unlock from the outside when you're OH, who's already at home, has left her key in the door on the inside... again!

I love how solar power is the secondary aim of this device.

To fly above the weather and transmit power requires very long very heavy cables. Physics kills this pretty easily I’m afraid.

Mine:

Normal looking 2 x 13A socket fascia

Release a catch and each of them pops out to become a multiplug, 6 x 13A capacity.

One of them also comes out fully, using a spring tensioned drum, to be a retractable extension cord.

I'm not sure what the blimp thing would do.
The little C in a circle moulder could catch on though.

I'm colour blind and probably wouldn't see red on rubber (I struggle with dark on dark) - green or yellow would work a treat...

yep, alternatively as she is sat on the sofa loudly listening to music on headphones as well (yep ive been here) that the headphones have a small device that is blue toothed connected to either the door bell or her phone when you ring it for the 20th time and cuts in. ..instead of going to your local for a few beers until she calls asking where you are... again.

The red ply is an 'enforcement aid' for the police at the minimum allowed tread depth. Different coloured warning layers as the tread wears down could be incorporated but would add to the cost.

It generates energy through harnessing the power of the sun, like the solar panels on a roof, but above the clouds and nearer the sun so with more gusto. This is passed down the cable into the grid, to reduce the requirement on fossil fuels.

Maybe it's more of a Tomorrow's World idea.

They're already available and quick to fit using guides online.

It has a knob on the inside and a keyhole in the outside.
