Has anyone ever actually purchased a item from a pop up ad?
Discussion
Scrolling though every website these days without a ad blocker is a minefield, local rags run by the “reach” news cooperation seem to be the worst where the page will glitch out and is full of banner ads and pop ups, the autocar page isn’t much better.
Instagram is full of adverts for stuff like “colon broom” and weight loss jabs (well mine is, almost certainly targeted)
My question is, who in their right minds has ever bought something off the back off one?

Bought the OH a sterling silver keyring made from a photo of one of our cats made by a company called Feyral. Bought my mum a wooden Robin made by a company called Wooden Cuties. Both beautifully made and both popped up in ads on Instagram. Did a LOT of due diligence before ordering them and paid by PayPal in both cases, but yes, I've done it and it worked out well.
I’ve bought a fair few things off Instagram ads, it pains me to say as Meta and Google are our largest competitors in the space I work in but there we are.
Advertising business is a $1 trillion beast, it works, though can appear very inefficient and some websites (such as Reach offerings) ruin it for themselves and everyone else. A decent native as experience isn’t a bad thing, keeps most of the internet open/free/subsidised depending on the site in question.
