Anyone have any contacts for when a Tracked and Signed For parcel sent on the 27th March to Germany via the Royal Mail gets handed off to DHL then goes missing / is still within their workflow and surely must be overdue the SLA for Tracked and Signed for delivery times now? The websites are of zero help so feel a more direct approach has to be the way to go.

Who booked the courier? Chances are they'll have the dual shipping assignments in their system.

RM to airport, DHL afterwards.

Just to be clear, DHL run the German postal service Deutsche Post. Items posted with Royal Mail for Germany will be delivered by DHL, but not by the international courier business you are familiar with in the UK.

I'm not sure what level of tracking Tracked and Signed For will get in a foreign country. It may just be at the point of delivery.

I had a T&SF item come back form Germany once and it just disappeared for a week or two and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't delivered. It may have been because it was sent to a PO Box address.

Not quite. RM to HWDC, then by road. No airport involved.

I sent something to Ireland via RM International Tracked... tracked to Heathrow and then once again when it arrived in Dublin and then that was it. Parcel was delivered a couple of days later, but I guess in Ireland they just couldn't be bothered with the tracking part, even at the point of delivery. Have you spoken to the recipient in case it's the same here and they actually have it?

DHL Germany is normally very good.

For business to consumer deliveries, they send you an email with the tracking number, which shows the location of a little truck on the streets near your house.

You get an ETA, which is normally pretty accurate.

I doubt DHL is the problem. Your package is probably sat in Customs somewhere.

Generally RM tracking only goes as far as the export point, once it goes to another carrier there it's no longer tracked unless that has changed

Did you fill in and attach a commercial invoice?

Sending items out of the UK is a nightmare, UPS are always losing stuff that I send out.

UPS blame customs and that’s usually the end of that item, never to be seen again. mad

Tracked/Signed always ceases at the border.
DHL (and DPD) confirmed to me ages ago that parcels sent from Germany to the UK cannot/will not be tracked (post brexit) as the systems are not compatible!!! So it's pointless sending registered post across a border IMHO!
It was different when the UK was a member of the EUSSR as then there was little or no paperwork.....

Not sure about Germany, but I frequently ship stuff to Ireland and the US with RM International Tracked and the tracking continues once it's outside of the UK. You normally get better / more detailed info if you put the RM tracking number into the foreign country's tracking system (An Post for Ireland and USPS for the US).

This is how it normally works, except for one Irish package I sent as outlined in my previous post on this thread.
