people dropping a huge egg,

dunking him in a lake, and he comes out covered in breadcrumbs??

am I alone in not understanding how this sells their greasy chicken?

Deep in the woods, a lake of gravy awaits a crowd of chicken enthusiasts, one of whom partakes in a self-sacrificial ceremony involving a dunk in the gravy lake, which allows them to shed their lowly human body and emerge as a piece of glorious chicken.

All Hail Gravy.

Interesting the very muted diversity casting in this surreal feast for the eyes, KFC is a tricky gig advertiser-wise, they got their fingers burnt in the USA recently advancing the outrageously racist calumny that african-americans lurve chicken, so they tread very carefully to not alienate their main demographic.

Funny advert though, I guess it gets people talking. That last one where everyone looked like a zombie freaked me out.

I'd assume they're not targeting people who never tried KFC and persuading them to try. Rather they want people who already know they like KFC to think I fancy KFC now.

My Mrs is a perfect example of that. Whenever she sees any KFC messaging she'll say can we have KFC tonight? Not my favourite but sometimes you have to keep her happy. In that sense the advertising has done it's job.

I think The Chase is the only thing that's watched live so we have to suffer the adverts through that.

Saw this yesterday and we both thought the same thing. WTF? biggrin

Can't say it made me hanker after a Zinger Burger, mind.

I spent the whole time the advert was on trying to work out what it was advertising. I assumed it was easter eggs right up until he emerged from the lake of gravy (not melted chocolate) as a piece of fried chicken.

An advert that makes people actually think about what it is for and then talk about it on the internet is a successful one.

It's a load of W**k

Agreed by a load of nodding subservient advertising folks when one of their seniors has a "brilliant" idea ............. or was that a mental episode.

Fast food adverts going the way of the utterly appalling crap that perfume manufacturers use.

The ad has worked only when those talking about KFC actually buy KFC.

Awww bless... You're the advertiser's best friend... The person who thinks it doesn't work on them.

If you're talking about it, you're still increasing awareness even if you have no intent on buying the product, you're still mentioning the brand to others who might.

Because of this thread I had Popeye's for lunch.
