And covered my Alpine A110 with all sorts of crud, moss, cement etc.
They've apologised, and I've contacted a mobile valet to come clean it.
Is it fair to ask them to pay for the valet, and if they refuse, what method of recourse could I have.
Or should I try to find the lovely travelling chap and ask him to pay ?
Many thanks.

I think you know the answer. If the neighbours have offered, I'd stick with that.

I'd go and demand reimbursement from the censored fella.

Let us know how it goes.

Depends who you are.

If you are a genuine up for a row with this type of people person and your willing to follow through any threats then you might get it out of them.

Otherwise, get the neighbour to pay, far easier hehe

Just whip the jet wash out and blast the car. If it needs any further work, bill the neighbour.

In the time it’s taken to write a post for replies. It could have been blasted off.

To. be fair, I do see your point, however, I didn't want to be blasting grit all over the French cheese paint and compounding the issue.

What do you think a valeter would use to get the crud off to see whst they were dealing with.
A hand mitt would cause more damage.

If the pressure washer is the common first line of washing this muck off, and there's a lot of it, I'll have a go, unless someone recommends some better first line of approaching this ?

I'd start with a snow foam to try and lift and gently pull the detritus off but that means already having the kit, it might be more cost effective to pay someone that already has it to do the work.

It's the kind of thing that makes good social media content for a savvy detailer.

If there are bits of cement there I'd be checking the roof for damage. Quite easy to make small dents with stuff like that falling from height

This is my current concern, we've not had good enough light, and the can is coated all over with a kind of mossy / cement film, so I cant get a good line of sight on it to see if there's any actual damage beyond being filthy.

If I start blasting it am I going to start doing more damage than just cleaning off the muck?

Until you clear the car theres no way to know whats wrong.
I would actually rinse the car off with the standard garden hose with no attached head and the tap set to a light flow.
A snow foam will help lift the grime but what you need is water flow to move the large bits.
A snow foam and pressure wash is the second stage once the big bits are off the car.
Stage 3 Check for damage.

The manual specifically says not to use a pressure washer on the A110.

Crikey ! Obviously, I've never read the manual smile I do tend to hand wash it with a Mitt, but she's SORNED for now, and I never expected to have to drag her out and clean her like this. Thank you for the advice.
I've just read the Owners thread on here, thankfully I've not used one on it.

A lot of product says this though, for example i do driveways and manufacturers do not recommend jet washing, but its the only way really to clean it.

i think its along the lines of say you cant because some nutters go out and buy some ridiculous machine and then cause damage.

I would just gently pressure wash, snow foam then wash.

Take the neighbours offer, only ask the valet to assess it before they start work.
