Following on from another poster who deliberately went and spent some folding knowing that it could be perceived as a "Del Boy W @ nker" purchase but was very self deprecating about it as they just wanted the item for themselves I wanted to share something. It will be cathartic for me. You can share if it helps you.

There are three things I could/would have but better judgement gets in the way. They are all really Del Boy crazy but there you go.

One, decades ago I damaged a front tooth in an accident. A few years ago the tooth finally gave up the ghost and broke off at gum level. I really wanted a gold front tooth for the full Mike Tyson look but have a normal inplant so anyone meeting me wouldn't know the difference.

Two, when I was a teenager I bought a gold rope necklace, never took it off. I still have it somewhere but can't wear it as all the links are worn and keep breaking. I haven't worn it for about 25 years. I would like another chunky gold necklace even though I would look like a sad old toss of a man.

Three, leather and sheepskin fleece lined jackets and coats. Yeah sign me up for them in my dreams, I still think I am Marlon Brando a rebel without a cause but the reality is that my apocalypse is now.

What clichéd Del Boy look gets you excited and do you have the cahonnes to go through with it?

Braces, I've always fancied wearing braces, but couldn't imagine pulling it off!

I own 3 sheepskin coats, all different lengths, colours and thicknesses. Great in winter and look quite smart.
Also got mink gloves, they are a hit with the ladies.

The cocktails with umbrellas that Del Boy would drink look and taste better than the lager everyone else would have. One Pina Colada please, Michael!

It’s clever how you’ve included a typical Del Boy joke.
Cojones.

I got my wife a coat made of hamster skins.
Took her for a weekend away in Blackpool, couldn't get her off the big wheel for hours.

Wearing a St Christopher outside of my roll neck jumper.

Actually........no. hehe

If I wasn't a recovering nicotine addict, I would partake in a fat cigar from time to time though.

I do have knocking about somewhere an identity bracelet I had when I was in my late teens, early 20s. Thought it was the DBs at the time.

A couple we know have a very good replica of the Trotters Reliant Regal Supervan that they go to local shows in and also do proms and weddings with it. It is surprising how popular it still is, with all ages, after all these years. He has the full Del Boy get up, with the coat, sunglasses, cigar etc with a couple of inflatable dolls in the back of the van too laugh

I am with you, I used to wear them but no longer.
The trick is to look as if you don't actually need them.
Looking like they are the only way to hold your pants up is not a good look!

Well - there are definitely braces and braces. Albert Thurston boxcloth ones really aren't in the Del Boy line.

So it took a few years for you to find out the spelling was wrong?

The entire purpose of wearing braces is to hold your trousers up.

With properly adjusted braces, trousers hang comfortably while sitting high enough so as not to look as though they are sagging.
Far more comfortable and less restrictive than wearing a belt for the same purpose.
I wore braces for years as a tree faller and have adopted them again for normal wear. Though the trousers are a very different style now as are the braces.
