Walking on Charmouth beach looking for fossils I found this object.
Feels like stone. It is hollow all the way through, like a piece of squashed tube.
Hot Wheels car for scale.

It is smooth on the inside and has a pronounced rib on the outside, for her pleasure.

According to this link:
https://www.lymeregismuseum.co.uk/museum-at-home/r...

Some of the finds in Charmouth beach are from an old rubbish tip and include car parts.

Still no clue as to what I found. I suppose it could be a neck from a bottle that has somehow melted, not sure how it would have experienced such heat.

If it is glass like it would only need to be in a bonfire to distort it like that.
Certainly looks more manageable made than animal or vegetable fossil.

What you have there is a Dialynx Audi Short Sport quattro. Rare and valuable, unlike the manky piece of gcse pottery.

I didn’t realise that glass became soft that easily.

When I was 11 I found a shell on the beach.

Nothing unusual in that I hear you say, there are loads of them on a lot of beaches....

Apart from the fact it was large, metal, rusty, had a swastika on it & started making a ticking noise when I kicked it yikes

More importantly, how has your Sport Quattro got the BBS Turbofan rims? Mine had the Speedlines... I'm rather jealous!

I only chose them as they are easy to keep clean, the Speedlines are lighter.

Not a Dialynx. Aside from the windscreen rake, you see the "vent" in front of the rear wheels? The one that isn't actually a vent. On the Dialynx it is at the top. On the real Sport-Q, it is at the bottom of the arch.

Dialynx:

Real Sport Quattro.

The black sport Quattro at the last Annual Service was fantastic, really fantastic to see up close.
