I’ve always enjoyed watching magic. Even learnt a few tricks in my youth, I was good enough to wow friends at drunken parties (which probably says more about my lack of ability then amazing skills!).

My daughter is 11 and over the last few months we’ve been learning a few of Marvin’s greatest magic tricks. Great fun and tonight she gave her first “performance” to family. It was that typical kid “look what I can do” type of performance, but she went through everything and I was very proud! She loved the attention!

It’s been a while since I was into magic however… any good links to sets to buy? Any tips… at all? I would love to get her to learn more!

We’ve watched a lot of YouTube tutorials and some are really amazing. I know she’ll grow out of this, but I’m enjoying it while I can. It’s magic for both of us smile

Maybe consider membership of The Young Magicians Club, the junior part of The Magic Circle, for those aged 10 years upwards.

I'd recommend books rather than (or as well as) sets.

The Book of Secrets by Dynamo is good.

If it's still there, Davenports in London (Charing Cross) do kids classes - either as one off or courses. Cracking little magic shop too!
