Has anyone got any positive or negative experiences with any of the online phone buyers?

I can’t be bothered with eBay or Facebook, and have got a couple of things to sell.

Not a phone, but got rid of all our CDs to Music Magpie and it was a hassle free and easy process.

I sold my iPhone 13 Pro to Music Magpie recently. I went online first to get a valuation, was honest with the condition and happy with the price they offered.

Then I went to my local Asda which has an automated Music Magpie 'kiosk'. Took a few goes to get it to work, but it didn't take long. My original valuation was honoured (they didn't try to be cheeky with the condition), the machine swallows the device and payment was made by bank transfer a few minutes later.

Saves the hassle of sending it through the post and the potential of an issue somewhere along the way.

I’ve used music magpie many times for various iPhones, iPads and other devices.

They offer a good price and are quick to process the checking and then make payment.

Thanks everyone, I’ve used music magpie for CDs but not phones, I didn’t know about the Asda drop off, I’ll get that done tomorrow. Thanks again.

Well that worked! Thanks Big Nanas, the kiosk would only take one of the phones I wanted to sell, but I knew that before I set off, so 10 minutes in my local Asda and I’m a few hundred quid better off. I’ll post the others in.

Had a quote from Music Magpie on an iPhone 11 for £108, which I thought was in good condition. However, when they received it they said it had 'significant cosmetic wear', which personally I think was BS and they offered me £32.87! Needless to say it's now being returned and will be gifted to a young teen for Xmas.

Excellent news! Glad it all worked out for you. I found the trickiest part was getting the IMEI to display on the phone long enough for me to put it on the shelf and for the door to close. Had a few goes at that!

It's a good use of technology for sure.

That’s the only issue I had, ended up putting the phone in, pressing go, then activating the screen to show the imei just as the door descended. Most exciting thing to happen all day smile

I was slightly concerned by the number of people reporting something similar, that’s one reason I wanted to try the instore drop off thing, save waiting a week to find out they were going to stuff me! All was good though in the end.

I thought about doing this and downloaded the app and started scanning the bar codes of my CDs. Most of them seemed to be worth about 10 pence each so I just took them to the charity shop instead.

I get the impression even they don't want them or DVDs anymore now.
