I've been wondering for a while why are there charity donation requests for period poverty in the mens bogs at service stations?
The car adverts, boxers, blokey things I understand but surely the target market for this is not blokes having a piss.
Surely you don’t think only women give to period poverty? The car adverts, boxers, blokey things I understand but surely the target market for this is not blokes having a piss.
Do you understand what it is?
Incidentally, I’ve given and I’m not a woman!

I thought this thread was going to be about "big Linda" and her special massages.
That is in the cubicle written in biro on the wall just above the loo roll holder.Bob-iylho said:

Not only women have periods, and not only blokes use urinals...
Ah, clearly your parents sent in the "I don't want my little darling to learn about willies and fannies" letter when sex ed was coming. What you might have thought was a man-period was actually just over-indulgence... We've all been there.
OP, I expect they don't limit "Water Aid" adverts to African villages, or RSPCA adverts to the inside of kennels. You don't need to be a woman to appreciate the effects of period poverty, or want to help.

I appreciate that not only women donate.
Incidentally the donations go to action aids overall fundraising not necessarily period poverty according to the smallprint.
Maybe my point wasn't made well. My opinion is that they would get a better ROI positioning the ads elsewhere i.e. ladies cubicles.
I think I'd be more likely to give to a mens health related one as I'd find it more relatable thus increasing income for the charity to do their good work.
Maybe they know marketing better than me and make good income from it, anyone in the sector able to shed any light on these campaigns?

I go to a few places now where women who think they’re men use the male toilets, The car adverts, boxers, blokey things I understand but surely the target market for this is not blokes having a piss.
In fact some of the schools I have to go to have inclusive toilets and other places have unisex toilets

Maybe they feel that women have more of an understanding of period poverty, so may well already donate - and this is a way to get eyeballs from a different demographic. Incidentally the donations go to action aids overall fundraising not necessarily period poverty according to the smallprint.
