Serious questions
We need to find out if the claims someone has made about themselves are true.We suspect not but need facts.
A p.i strikes me as a possibility.
Has anyone had any experience?
Where would I find one?
What sort of things can they discover
Are the they discrete?
What sort of cost (we’re in the north)?
I know plenty of retired ex policemen. Would they know or even approve?

I did consider starting a new account but thought, hey, if they did read this and thought it might refer to them then it wouldnt be a bad thing

Work used this agency years ago - a guy called Dave Early, ex-MET copper

Some of the stuff they could find out was impressive. Possibly skirting a few rules but they got results. That was over 10 years ago but give them a shout.

Good questions, I am looking for two people, both owe me money, It is very difficult to find people
if they don't want to be found, especially as one has just been through the early release from prison scheme. I know the city where each lives but that is all.

Neither are on socials and I don't know any of their contacts.

Will be watching the thread with interest.

What a teaser of a thread. Not much to add but curious about the situation. My rule has always been if I have serious doubts then stay away, but appreciate that might not apply.

I used to work for an Insurance company and they used them quite frequently when people were claiming compensation for injuries.

They would literally follow them and be camped outside their house waiting for them to do something that showed they were really injured.

Unfortunately I can’t say anymore but it is something that we can’t stay away from unfortunately but this is only an option and hopefully is a last resort.

How are the claims being made? If you have ever worked in the industry it's remarkably easy to check a digital footprint.

The claims are being made verbally. I’ve tried googling their name with no results. Ironically they have previously claimed to have worked very hard to remove all references to their achievements from the network.
One of reasons I used my real account is to reassure this is a genuine question and not a wind up from some Walt type. Unfortunately this prevents me from telling the whole sorry story but is a very distubing tale which could have a very serious impact on someone life.
Sorry for the intrigue.

If they have done something hooky wouldn't the parole board want to hear about it?

Start at https://www.theabi.org.uk/ and you'll be surprised how many there are around the place.

My mate (professional credit control/debt collector) uses Trace Agents all the time for that sort of thing, very effective & not that expensive. But if you Google 'trace agent' as a phrase, that should come up with someone near you. They can be surprisingly good at finding even those that want to stay under the radar.
