I have to check security cameras regularly for webs as they trigger them to record. Think the infra red attracts insect so the spider weave a web over the camera
Get the usual circular webs but recently getting a single strand which seems to go from the eaves to the ground but there is a cylindrical web about six feet up difficult to estimate length as you cannot see it in daylight but I guess it is about 3” long.
Anybody know what spider this is?

I've no idea about the spider but I use a separate IR light to avoid this spider problem.
On the other hand I have an IR distance sensor in a cellar shaft because of high ground water levels and a couple of weeks ago I got warnings of high water on one sensor but not the other. I was 500 miles away from the house... but the weather was dry.
On my return I found a big fat spider sunning himself in the IR beam.
