Think I did this thread for 2022, and I just spotted the SS 2023 thread, so thought f**k it, why not get this one going too!

Last year I saved up plenty of my annual leave to use a load at Christmas so I had about 2.5 weeks off which was awesome and probably the longest time off work I've had for 5 years.
This year, I've gone for the full 3 weeks off, so my last working day is 11th Dec and frankly I cannot wait. Dangerous to be counting down the days already, but there we go.

I've also been super organised and booked the Christmas lights at Kew Gardens months ago, I was front of the 'queue' for tickets to the world dart's championships so I'm going to two days and have got pretty much the very best table seats you can get.
I've pre-ordered my red wine advent calendar, and Mrs UTH's surprise Prosecco advent calendar has already arrived and is hiding in the boot of the car.

Anyone else with me, or am I about to get hounded out of town for bringing up the C word so early!

Thread title's quite self explanatory though? Maybe just don't click on it?

Sweet spot here

Elderly parents but still with it

Kids young enough to find it fully magical

I must make the most of it, I won’t but I shall try

My baby was 3 months old last year, hoping at over a year old she might be a bit more aware and fun this year.

Looks good. I was just thinking I need to purchase ingredients for mine - traditionally baked during October half-term holiday. Anyone got their sprouts on yet?

Yep cannot wait! After having the wera advent calendar last year I'm on the look out for something cool this year. Might have to be Lego...

I can't do that, the tin wouldn't see out the week!

Why do you think I've hidden Mrs UTH's Prosecco calendar - even safer that she doesn't even know such a thing exists.

Yay ! Christmas

Last year I worked 12 hour days on Christmas day and Boxing day then started two 12 hour night shifts on the day after boxing day.

By the time I had finished, everyone else was fed up with it frown

Worst Christmas in 40 years at work.

This year, I am not on shift and have the whole week booked off !!!! Yay

Just hope the Reactor refuelling finishes on time as if that overruns I might have to do a little work but it is going to be soooo good.

M&S Dinner already ordered (can't be arsed prepping but couldn't bear going out), Full house expected and two Grand Daughters to fuss over.

its going to be epic !

Already got a few bits stashed in the spare room, including a remote control Defender for my nephew's 4yo son. Hopefully having his own car will mean he won't smash up my remote control Range Rover Sport any more. biggrin

I placed the final orders for Advent calendars over the weekend and they are starting to arrive.
Particularly pleased with the gin calendar for my daughter, the Matchbox cars calendar for the 4yo and the Harvey Nichols beauty calendar for my 18yo goddaughter.

Panto tickets for the 23rd were purchased back in January. (Oh yes they were.) thumbup

I'm already on the lookout for the Christmas Music channels on Sky. I swear they started at the beginning of October last year. Christmas officially starts when I see Elton hold up his Watford season ticket.
