For many years I wore Lacoste. Now I would prefer to buy non branded or unknown brands. Any recommendations? Most important is that they should keep colour/shape when washed.

Isn’t this in the wrong section?

Wrong section for this topic but my 2p worth.

When Superdry first became mainstream (20 years back?), their quality of their polos was amazing, I feel it went downhill about 10 years ago and I switched to la coste.

It's the neck and collar which always goes baggy first for me.

This.

Before one of my children started shopping there I dismissed it as a sort of GAP type offering.

But the quality of everything I have bought is better than (for example) Ralph Lauren Polo but a fraction of the price.

Right now I’m wearing a plain black Sunspel piqué polo which is regular fit.

I also have some Lacoste classic fit piqué polos which are more casual/sporty due to the visible logo.

The quality control on the Lacoste polos has gone massively down hill. I’ve had to send 2 back upon delivery within the last 12 months due to manufacturing faults (the fabric has been switched up skew/twisted) meaning that the seam down the side was twisting towards the front. On the other, the arm switching where the 2 pieces of fabric meet was wonky too.

No complains with Sunspel but for the price, you shouldn’t expect any. The stitching is better too. With no logos on show it’s timeless and classy but some people could think you’re wearing a £10 polo from Primark if that bothers you. Sunspel goes very under the radar.

I've had a few Sunspel as gifts. I was unimpressed. They didn't keep their colour or shape well when washed.

30c cold/eco wash using detergent speicifc for colours? Line dry only? Turned inside out with the buttons done up?

Sorry. I thought I had started this topic in the sections on things. My mistake.

Thanks anyway for the tips.

I recently bought 5 polos in different colours from M&S.

They don't have any external branding apart from a very small logo on the bottom hem.

£18 a pop and very pleased I am with them too.

They are currently doing 3 for 2 as well.

I wear polos all the time as I hate shirts, and T-Shirts are frowned upon at work.

About a year ago I spilt some coffee on my polo top from a loose lid on a coffee cup. There was an Asda nearby, so I popped in to buy a new top. £6 each or 2 for £10 (or was it £7 each and 2 for £12?). Anyway they were perfectly fine and have some colourfast guarantee.

Reiss is a lottery.

I’ve had stuff from them that I could have worn in a war zone and it would have still looked good. Other items I’ve worn once.

M and S are doing three for two at £18 each right now.

I bought three. The quality and fit seems great to me. I've bought them before and they lasted years.
