Like many people I follow some low budget youtubers that make interesting content. They are often filming it on a serious budget limit and it’s clear it's passion for them rather than a business.

Now they make money from youtube, who in turn make money from advertisers.

In my view the only people who can afford adverts on youtube are large multinational companies who have got so large by general making an overpriced product.

Thus the money they spend on advertising to me is wasted as I will not be buying their product.

I am therefore (in my head at least) sticking it to the man - supporting good content (win) with wasted monies from terrible companies (win)

Do you have a man you are sticking it to? If so, how are you wining.

Leaving bank accounts open with £1 in them - they have to backup and manage the account which is a headache and costs them money.

I did that with Barclays many years ago, out of the blue they sent me a cheque for the balance and told me they were closing the account, lol.

I use charity bags as emergency nappy bags / muddy clothes bags

Keep a handful of them in the spare wheel space in the car, very for general mess in tricky situations

When Halifax went private back in 1999, my dad rang me to enquire as to whether I still had my account. I didn't even know I'd had one, but he opened it for me and stuck £100 in. I'd forgotten all about it. Anyhow I then got issued shares in Halifax/HBOS and sold them a year later for £1500.

Some years ago, before the days of easy online tranfers, I once had £250 mysteriously appear in my bank account. Several days later I received a letter from my bank, saying they'd deposited the amount in error and could I send them a cheque for it.

I wrote back asking for more details, as I would need to check my records first. There ensued a brief back and forth, as I made then jump through a few hoops. Finally I sent them a cheque for £200, with a covering letter explaining that I had enclosed their payment, less a £50 admin fee for having to deal with it. Never heard back from them smile

These are all pretty weak examples of sticking it to the man so far.

Proper sticking it, which I am semi pro in -

I disputed that I owed British Gas £75 a few years ago, I sent them a weekly cheque for £1.50 for 50 weeks.

I sued Sky TV for not meeting the terms of the deal they offered, ended up sending the bailiffs into their headquarters.

Received a parking ticket, sued the parking company for harassment after 8 of their chasing letters. Never had to pay the ticket either.

Probably some other examples will come to mind.

Why did you pay them if you’ disputed you owed them the money? Sounds pretty weak to me.

That was a while ago before I became an expert on the small claims court procedure. It cost them far more to process the cheques than the money they received, that's winning.

I recent purchased a burger King on way home from a work trip at a motorway services (wasn't much choice). I ordered and paid for a regular bacon double cheeseburger but received an xl size.
