For as long as I can remember, I've loved Oakley sunglasses. I've no idea why, they just seemed very cool to a teenage me in the late 90s. I remember getting some knock off ones on a holiday in Mallorca on the mid to late 90s and thought I was so cool.

I eventually got my first pair prior to my first ski season in 01/02 A pair of Straight Jacket with Orange Flames down the side and Fire Iridium lenses. I loved these glasses, but unfortunately left them in my transfer van on my 05/06 ski season, and they were pinched. I'd happily pay a few hundred for another pair today if I could find some.

Gutted after they went missing, I went and replaced them in early 2006 with a pair of whiskers. They came with basic black lenses and looked like this. Given I was earning about £70 a week then, they were a very extravagant purchase!

I still have these, but don't wear them as my face is too fat these days. The lenses delaminated over the years and last year I purchased some replacement lenses for them. I'm not overly sure why, I guess to sell them but I can't quite bring myself to do it. This is how they currently look. They need new nose bits and new earsocks.

In 2007 I started getting into cycling and my parents purchased me a set of Radars. They were white, with black lenses and white earsocks. Can't find any generic ones online, so hear they are, on my helm, upside down in 2008. Taken with a potato.

They've been through a couple of lenses (kept snapping on the bridge) and have had some blue earsocks. Over the past few weeks I ordered some new lenses and found some genuine green earsocks on eBay, and this is how they currently look, which I absolutely love.

A few years back I decided I wasn't going to part with so much for everyday glasses, so purchased a different brand. Unfortunately after a couple of frames and some replacement lenses I gave up and went back to Oakley last year, and purchased some Turbines from a well known sunglasses hut (blue light discount ftw)

I absolutely love these glasses, and they're basically on whenever the sun is out. They fit the fuller face too, which is a bonus!

Also last year, I found another pair of whiskers for sale locally. They came with the metal vault, so I purchased them just for that. I'll be moving them on shortly.

A fairly limited collection, I'm in a group where people seem to have hundreds, but I tend to keep an eye out for any local bargains and I'm sure I'll get some more soon.

How about you? Any other Oakley fans here?

I’m a lover of Oakley too. Got a pair of turbines, black frame and blue lenses, 2 pair of straightlinks, one pair black with blue lenses and the others are black with the fire red lenses. Even though I have 3 pairs I still look at them and was tempted not so long ago to buy more.

Oakleys are as addictive as G shocks.

I have 5 pairs, most recent purchase was these Sutros. First experience with a Prizm lens and I love them. Subtle they ain’t, but isn’t what they’re all about…?!

Really regret not buying a pair of bright green Frogskins last time they had a sale…

Like G Shocks, the more lurid the colour the better.

I’m 55 btw…!

I've got an aging pair of Mainlink in clear grey/blue with blue polarzed lenses.

They're showing their age now though (think I bought them about 8 years ago and have replaced lenses 3 times!)

Not sure what to replace with. Cheap option is Holbrook in matt black/red lenses but I don't know if I'll like them?!

I've also in the past had a pair of Gascan in polished white with fire iridium lenses, quite a statement rofl

I have a pair of Oakley Scalpel.

I use them solely in the car for driving.

Picked them up in a Debenhams sale on Oxford Street years ago. They were something like 70% off, so I only paid about £35. Result.

Holbrook in faux wood and smoke lenses, half jacket and flak.

Thinking of picking up some other Holbrook as they are my go to glasses so worth a few different lenses I think.

My everyday sunnies are Gibston which replaced a pair of Valve that still get used occasionally on the bike with the kids. Even though sunglasses are pretty much part of everyday wear here, Oakley are still feckin pricey!

Been wearing Oakley almost exclusively since I was 18, first few pairs were Square Wires, a foray into Armani which didn't last long, then a pair of Juliet's and since 2 pairs of Holbrooks, I keep them about 5 years, I'm now 41. I've always had Polarized lenses, the Holbrooks are now Prizm, wish I'd got Polarized, I don't rate Prizm at all, but I'm too cheap to change them now I've spent the money on them!

Got a mega deal on the Juliet's when I bought them, RRP was £300, I paid £240 and sold them a few months ago needing new lenses for £160! Were at least 10 years old.

Two pair of Tapers with prescription lenses, one pair with reactive lenses for day to day use and the other with black iridium purely for driving.

You get what you pay for with Oakley, I had a genuine WTAF moment with the sunglasses, the optics are that good.

From rowing at school 20 years ago (where oakleys were obligatory) to mountain biking I’ve always liked them. These red M frame lenses got destroyed by mum nicking them and keeping them in the car but I bought another two sets (gold and black) when I got back into running and biking over lockdown. If anyone has the red ones about somewhere I wouldn’t mind hearing from them. Also have some black twentys with blue lenses I quite like but lenses were cheap replacements off Amazon.

Got some of these (bought as an emergency purchase in Norwich, after I dropped my Maui Jims off the back of the boat on the first day of our Norfolk Broads holiday !)

They're polarized and as a die-hard Maui Jim fan I'm really impressed with these

For the past 20 years I've worn prescription Oakley glasses. I just find straight legs more comfortable than curved ones. I have a pair of Pitchmans just now with reactions lenses that turn a purpley colour in the sunshine.

I currently have the limited 35th anniversary Frogskins in black with bronze writing and an old pair of Juliet X metals with Ruby lenses that were released for the X Men movie with Cyclops wearing a similar version. These are numbered with an X in front of the serial number which means there are one of the original 5000 released for the movie.

I have Oakley frames for my regular glasses and Oakley prescription sunglasses too. Have done so for last 20-odd years and three sets of glasses.

Chatting the guy at Vision Express (coincidentally, just been bought by EssilorLuxottica, who make pretty much EVERY luxury brand of sunglasses including Oakley) and the lenses for regular glasses come from a fabbing grinder in the UK, while the sunglasses prescription lenses come direct from the master factory in Italy, so they can retain the quality control at a higher level. Apparently.

The lenses in the shades are noticeably sharper and higher quality than my day-to-day glasses.
