I have tried numerour brands of reusable shoe cover for working in clients houses doind AV and scurity work with my steelies on for me and my employees, and never really found one we get on with. I have had a couple of pairs off sky engineers in the past, the ones with the ocean rescue tag on the back, and the quality of them is phenomenal, best ones we have ever used. The problem is no one knows who makes them or where to buy them. I have hunted high and low and shown them to workwear places but the source is a mystery.
Does anyone know where sky get their ocean rescue boot covers?
I thought this forum would be the best one to find a sky engineer.

Have a look at MukGuard overshoes.

Here’s some blurb about it and Sky’s affiliation.

These. nothing fancy design wise, just much higher quality material and stitching than anything else I have come across.

Can I hop on this thread and ask if any sky engineers know how to get reliable multi room working over wifi?

I’ve been messing around with extenders all year. I can usually get it to work only to then lose connections again.

Have tried calling a few times but give up the will to live after being on hold for hours then work with support.

Are they extenders or mesh kits? If the former, I believe each extender creates its own network so you will find yourself dropping on and off them all the time (purely in my own experience, I’m not techie in the slightest!). I changed from an extender to mesh wifi a few months back and it’s a bloody revelation!!!

Edit - just reread your question, think I was probably talking about something totally different!!

This is the closest thing I can find. Might be worth a punt for the price?

I found out, they are made by myshoecovers. the only uk place that sells them is amazon, and they are out of stock until end of may in our sizes. Going to put an order in.

Get some made. Anyone with a sewing machine that can knock up masks will be able to make those no trouble. Have a rummage on Etsy and send a couple of emails. Alternatively, there are websites devoted to 'MYOG' - make your own gear - and you will find someone who can make them.

I did the Marathon des Sables and got some sand gaiters knocked up - a similar design.

Disappointing thread. When I read the title I was hoping there were some engineers that could sort out a nicer sky for me!

How much would you be willing to pay for them, how many pairs do you want, and when do you want them by?

My Wife is an extremely skilled industrial seamstress who usually makes highly detailed large pieces for oil / gas / nuclear / military. I think this sort of thing might be right up her street.

Installers is the word you were looking for. Technicians at a push. Engineers, definitely not.

would be after 3 pairs, but really after a very durable material, big enough to go over size 12 riggers. In red white and blue. what would that cost?
the myshoecovers ones are something else quality wise the material and stitching can take a tanking, one of my engineers is a 24 stone love machine so when he is up an aluminium ladder thats a lot of psi underfoot.

£21 a pair! I hope they put themselves on your boots for that price.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MyShoeCovers-Premium-Reus...

I realise you've seen them & know the quality but have you at least had a look at a pair of the £8 ones to see if they are half as good?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reusable-Contractors-Non-...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reusable-Overshoes-Househ...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Waterproof-Reusable-Medic...

It would really hurt to lose one overshoe at £11.50 a time.

i have bought about a dozen pairs of the 7-12 quid ones. They only last a few months before they are punctured.
Dont mind paying a premium for durable kit. we wasted loads of money buying various ste network test gear befor realising you just cant beat fluke. It just does the job day in day out without a hiccup.
No condoms, company teambuilding is raw.

Why not just carry a pair of shoes you can use indoors? As above I have a pair of Crocs in the van, I just put them on when in peoples houses. Guy I work with has a pair of trainers, do up with velcro, so quick and easy to change.

Quicker then messing with overshoes which end up dirty anyway.
