In response to the Unfunny Comedians thread, I thought I'd start a thread where you say who you find funny, and given an example of a joke that made you laugh.

Give as many examples as you want.

Jerry Sadowitz.

Unfortunately, none of his jokes are suitable for a public forum smile

Paul Sinha.

Was very funny but doesn't really do one-liners. It's more funny stories and anecdotes.

Jim Jeffries and Rob Beckett are my favourite at the minute.

Do like Joe Wilkinson too.

Saw Jim Jefferies last night and he was very good. The Guardian review didn’t like him but they can fk off!

Have your heard his Gossip mongers podcast? It’s very funny.

but I ducked into an alleyway and lost him." Emo Philips

I hope that is not classed as too offensive in this day and age?

I know what you mean. My current favourite comedian is Doug Stanhope. There's not much of his work I would care to post up on here.

I like Joe too.

I laughed at his comment on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, where they were discussing why weirdos always sit next to you on public transport, and Joe says something like, "I don't know what you mean, i've never had a weirdo sit next to me on the bus..."

Recently become a fan of Dave Chappelle and Anthony Jeselnick, both of whom I think are funny, although Jeselnick gets pretty dark at times!

Jimmy Carr - live.

Literally nearly died from lack of oxygen.

Was the most un-PC thing I've ever witnessed. Based on what we read about in the papers, no idea how he hasn't been arrested yet !!!

Even joked about if the place caught fire we could throw the guy in the wheelchair out of the window rather than let him block the stairs. As being already disabled, he couldn't be disabled again!

Scott Bennett is hilarious, also Jason Cook, although he doesn't seem to do as much stand-up these days.

From the past:- Chic Murray
Current:- Gary Delaney

Sorry I can't be arsed searching for a clip of either, but if I start that now, I'll be stuck on You tube all day.

Steven K Amos - I watched him (as part of the 'live studio audience') recording Argumental, with richard herring, I think. He is incredibly funny, moreso between camera takes than when the camera is rolling.

Another comedian I find truly funny, and the only one in recent memory that I've actually laughed out loud at was Dave Gorman, at his recent live show in Guildford. Although his current TV show 'Terms and Conditions Apply' is, sadly, one of his weaker efforts.

I met Al Murray at a history festival, presenting his view of Viscount Montgomery Of Alamein. He retains the ability to be funny even when presenting serious stuff. Genuinely likeable too. Look up some of his history podcasts.

Dara O Briain. Very clever man. Similarly Clive Anderson.

Eddie Murphy in Delirious was pretty much perfection.

And although he works behind the camera mostly nowadays I'll watch anything by Armando Iannucci.
