I can clearly hear Laurel and I can't understand how anyone could possibly hear Yanny, however my OH hears Yanny and can't comprehend Laurel!

When I heard it on R4 yesterday, it was very clearly Yanni.
When I heard it on FB last night, it was very clearly Laurel.

I can hear both. The first time I heard it was definitely "yanny"

The two words are being played at the same time, and it depends whether or not you have better perception of high or low frequency as to which one you hear. the "laurel" sounds like a kind of frog croak or burp to me but repeated listens make it much clearer as "laurel"

Your ears and eyes can very much deceive you!

I heard laurel on the radio yesterday but Yanny on the telly today but when I got out of bed to get changed I was standing by the cupboards partially blocking the telly and I heard yaurel.
It must be more to do with how the sound gets to you rather than age etc. Gotta be! Or maybe I’m on the cusp of turning old biggrin

I had this, I heard it on the radio in the car and it said Yanny. Watched a video on my phone and it say Laurel several times then at the end said Yanny 3 times.

Heard on TV and on laptop and heard laurel on both. Anyone who hears anything different is mental. Fact.

Yanni. I can't hear Laurel at all. Listened about a dozen times.

Can't hear me, I was shouting loud enough for the next village to hear.

Try putting your fingers in your ears (or some earplugs) and have another listen, or play it through a different set of speakers, or put something in between the speakers and your ears.

Played it a few times.

The first time I heard Yanni - with one Laurel thrown in in the middle. Every subsequent time I listened to it, I have only heard Laurel.

I played it a few times and came to the conclusion that I really don't give a fk what it sounds like.

And what's the difference between 'yanny' and 'yanni'?

Can't hear anything even slightly Laurel related.
