Toe box on those Paul Smiths is looking very Adidas Handball Spezial. Quite like them.
Reminds me I've a pair of New Balance x Paul Smith which I really should wear more.
They've got a quite nice and "thin" silhouette, if I can say that? Anyway, they'll be better than wearing shoes at a wedding this weekend Reminds me I've a pair of New Balance x Paul Smith which I really should wear more.

There is nothing distinct about these besides the price and perhaps some of the material used, the designs look pretty average. Compared to some of the more interesting trainers that you have purchased over the last year and especially with some of the brands you stick to, what is the appeal here for you? You have so many in the collection already that I'm trying to see from your perspective why you would add what seem like dull trainers to it.
(I hope that doesn't come across passive aggressively, genuinely interested!)

I purely liked the look of the ostrich, that was the only appeal really.(I hope that doesn't come across passive aggressively, genuinely interested!)
Just wondered if the site/brand was legit or not.
Your comment is very good though, made me step back for a moment and wonder what is the point? On reflection the do look stiff and uncomfortable.
The OG Cortez colourway was re-released today, I wanted a pair of these years ago but didn't pick them up and they then pulled them from sale. I know not everyone likes the cortez silhouette but they were one of the first pair of branded trainers I had and I wore the s
t out of them ![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)
Couldn't resist getting them now, only £100 as well which is nice considering where the prices of some models have gone.

Interesting comment with "only £100"
I really like them, but I don't see the Cortez as a hundred quid trainer.
I'd agree, but was thinking about this the other day. Despite moaning about the costs - particular Kids Trainers now running up to 150 quid - trainer inflation has lagged real inflation.I really like them, but I don't see the Cortez as a hundred quid trainer.
My first Jordan IVs purchased in 1989 where £79, per the BoE that would be £210 today. Any rerelease seems to pitch around the 190 mark. And the varsity pairs, I got below - pondering what to go for today.

It's funny you say "only £100" because I was on a Sneaker group and someone was complaining about the price of them going up.
Last time I looked at these I feel like they were £80? There or there about and that would have been 5-7 years ago. Given where the prices of other Nike shoes are (Dunks £110, J1 lows £120-£150, AF! £110) I don't feel that's an egregious price on them? Samba's are £90-£100, Rebook Classics are £85-£110. All pretty basic construction so probably a fair comparison. Sneakerheads moan about all the new prices tbh, just like petrolheads moaning about car prices.

I have a very worn pair that were 30th anniversary - stitched 72 on the left heel and 02 on the right, from memory.

The people in the German factory contacted me a cpl days ago too, asked me what my favourite colours are? Fingers crossed I might get a true one off pair.
How tf have you built that connection? Hats off to you tho, especially if you get a one off ![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)

Both fantastic. And grails for me. Id be leaning towards the UNC’s - more versatile, but the Raging Bulls will be my favourite. My first Jordan IVs purchased in 1989 where £79, per the BoE that would be £210 today.
