"Bloody crockles..."
Don't tell me I've been getting that wrong all these years!

paperbag

I thought it was grockles.

It's okay, the locals probably thought I was a crockle with a speech impediment.

Wasn't it something to do with Hanna barbera and separating the head from the body so therefore didn't have to do lots of drawing for the speaking?
We have a winner.

It all came down to cost.

... and what other characters did he 'voice' act?
Mel Blanc. Almost every cartoon character I can think of.

Phil Harris. Of course.

I'm not having a good evening, nostalgiawise.

Ah. Apols if I've offended again....

None taken. It was an aside directed towards my mum's irrepressible oddness.

We could run a book on whether or not the new ones are better than the old ones.

We Buy Any Car guesstimated £899 for the Golf. I made an appointment and drove down there. £310.91.

I was so insulted. If they'd gone to £311 exactly I may have considered it.

91p indeed. Pah!

Could I refer you to Gazelles over Oxfordshire in Boats, Planes and Trains?

Over.

Someone in the TVR Forum asks, "How much to recondition heads?"

We won't be asking that question in here. There's not enough money in the world

I paid £900 for it in April. The MoT last week cost £50. I advertised it this morning on FaceBay for £950. SOLD. £950 cash.

Inundated with enquiries I was. Could have got more. Still, it was three times as much as We Buy Any Car offered yesterday.

I'm sorry, they offered you how much in person???
If I'd have taken a car all the way to that bunch of shysters and they then offered virtually a third of the original price I suspect I would have become somewhat belligerent.
You and me both Bobbers. Some people need to learn that taking the piss is not on
In person they reduced their internet £899 estimate to £310. They've just emailed to say it was good to see me yesterday and they are sorry we couldn't do business and would I like to see their revised estimate? Today's Internet estimate has shot up from £899 to £818. If they reduced in the same proportion as yesterday, today's in person estimate would be £278.12, down from £310.19.

smile

I think they should look at their business model.

I saw his bespoke Ferrari in the Vallleys in South Wales. The giveaway was the registration which I have inconveniently forgotten.

Clapton's Ferrari, not Battert's.
